Today when i played i ran into new problems, like running out of water. This hasn't happened before so i didn't have a water tank, i also ran into energy, food, spares, medical and general supplies problems. You can see all of these in the pictures. At this point i decided to restart my game but didn't have enough time to start a new colony.

I really enjoyed playing the game, i liked that its heavily strategy based and you cant get lucky to do well, it takes several tries but each time you learn more and get further than you did last time. There's so many issues you can run into that you have to really think ahead on your plans. The game also includes environmental dangers like meteors and sandstorms that can cause harm to the colony. So overall, enjoyed the game and it is something i would play again.

Planetbase PLAN day 4

Today i am going to continue the game that i was playing yesterday, yesterday i ran into a problem where my constructor bots stopped working, so i'm hoping that having the game restart has fixed that. Otherwise i may need to make a new game. I plan to make a control center and a robotics facility.

Planetbase day 2

Today I played the tutorial of PlanetBase

You start the game with 7 colonists and 2 bots, one constructor and one carrier bot. The tutorial starts by introducing you to some of the basic buildings you need right away to survive. The first thing you need to build is an oxygen generator and an airlock. You need a solar panel and water extractor to power the oxygen generator. After that you can expand the base with things like a canteen for your people to eat, a bio dome for growing food and a mine for resources.

These 3 photos show the progression of my base as i went through the tutorial.

In the last picture the buildings i have are a sick bay, a factory for creating ores and bioplastic, a dorm for sleeping, a canteen for eating and a mine for resources. I also made a power collector in case there is no sun or wind to power my base.

The tutorial ends once you have made a landing pad, colonists ships and trade ships will be able to land here.

Day 1 Planetbase

Planetbase is a strategy game with the main objective of surviving and creating a self sustaining colony on a remote planet. The game was not made to be a simulation game although it is based off of the expected challenges we would face on another planet.

I watched the trailer and the walk-thru videos. The trailer shows off the different kinds of buildings and how to use the energy sources to give energy to your entire colony. Everything you build will cost materials and you can make things larger by scrolling the mouse wheel, but this will increase the amount of materials needed for making a building. Energy sources will become more effective and produce more energy the larger they are. You are given 3 different bots to help with the construction of your base, carrier bot, driller bot and construction bot.
